🎶 Vampire Weekend - Only God Was Above Us

vampireweekend-onlygodwasaboveus

Indie Rock has never been a genre that you'd find atop my list of favorites, but every once in a while there's just something that stands out to me, and very organically becomes part of my regular rotation.

Vampire Weekend has released such a beautiful and melancholy record with Only God Was Above Us. Full of twinkling pianos, poetic lyrics, playful strings, and plucky electric guitars, the album also sounds reluctantly hopeful in a way. Combined with memorable melodies, and uplifting fuzzy crescendos, this all comes together for a very nice listen, especially if it's one of those moody days outside.

I actually heard this album for the first time when it came out several months ago, but it really came into its own once summer was over and fall had set in. A definite favorite for the season. 🍂
